When will the full ChartSwap provider network be available in ChartSwap Insights?
At this time, the ChartSwap Insights platform supports record requests from Datavant locations only. Access to the broader ChartSwap provider network is planned for the latter half of 2026, and customers will be notified as additional provider locations become available.
Where can I find my current and past requests?
All current and past SmartRequest orders will be available in ChartSwap Insights. Once you log in, you can view, track, and manage your requests directly within the platform, including previously submitted SmartRequest orders that are still accessible.
What is changing with SmartRequest?
SmartRequest is now part of DigitalOwl. Medical record retrieval is being brought into a single platform where you can request, track, analyze, and manage medical records in one place. You can continue requesting medical records with the same provider access and compliance standards you rely on today.
Once records are retrieved, they can be organized and analyzed with DigitalOwl’s specialized AI, reducing manual review time and providing clear chronologies, summaries, and insights to improve decision-making.
Is analysis required?
Analysis is optional and available as an add-on. When enabled, analysis helps organize and interpret medical records more efficiently.
Standard Analysis includes:
- Document ordering and indexing
- Summaries
- Search and filtering
Advanced Analysis includes:
- In-depth analysis reports by use case
- AI-assisted chat
- Evidence and discrepancy identification
- Billing analysis
When analysis is selected, structured records, medical chronologies, summaries, and insights are typically delivered within 24 hours after records are received. Retrieval timelines are unchanged.
Will medical record retrieval timelines change?
No. Medical record retrieval timelines remain consistent with current SmartRequest expectations. Enabling analysis does not impact retrieval-only requests or provider turnaround times.
Can I try summaries before paying for them?
Yes. Migrated SmartRequest users can access summaries at no cost for one month, starting from the day they receive their ChartSwap Insights account credentials. During this period, you can add record analysis, including summaries and insights, to new or existing retrieval requests to try the features before purchasing it going forward.
